Who We Are
The first AI Sports Lab in Latin America and the Caribbean. Built in Jamaica. Serving the Caribbean.
Our Mission
SportsBrain exists to give Caribbean athletes the same quality of sports science infrastructure available to teams in the Premier League, the NBA, and the world's best-funded national programmes. We build AI that works for the Caribbean — designed for Caribbean sports, Caribbean conditions, and Caribbean budgets.
What Is SportsBrain?
SportsBrain is the first dedicated AI Sports Lab in Latin America and the Caribbean. We combine original AI research with practical sports technology to give Caribbean athletes, coaches, federations, and governments a genuine competitive edge.
Our platform covers the full athlete journey: from identifying talent at primary school level, through performance optimisation and injury prevention, to connecting athletes with global opportunities. Everything we build is grounded in Caribbean sport — designed for Caribbean conditions, players, and the institutions that serve them.
SportsBrain is a Maestro AI Lab subsidiary, funded in part by the Jamaican Government through the Development Bank of Jamaica's IGNITE programme as a national Sports AI Lab initiative. We are headquartered in Kingston, Jamaica.

What We Build
01
Identifies athletic potential from primary school through national programmes using biometric assessments, movement analysis, and predictive modelling.
02
Built on reinforcement learning — the technique behind AlphaGo — generating optimal coaching decisions based on real-time game state, player profiles, and opponent patterns.
03
Goes beyond prediction — the system prescribes specific interventions to prevent injuries before they occur, tailored to each athlete's load and physiological data.
04
Personalised nutrition plans built from athlete biometrics, training demands, and Caribbean food availability — delivered at costs Caribbean programmes can actually afford.
05
Drone-mounted cameras combined with computer vision AI deliver stadium-grade football analytics at a fraction of traditional broadcast infrastructure costs.
06
Connects Caribbean athletes with global academies, scouts, and professional programmes through verified, data-rich athlete profiles that transcend geography.
Our Story
SportsBrain was not built for profit or prestige. It was built from grief, from brotherhood, and from a shared belief that the Caribbean's extraordinary athletic talent deserved the world's best technology. Nicholas and Adrian Dunkley co-founded SportsBrain in memory of Junior Williams — their uncle — a passionate sports figure in Jamaica who believed deeply in the power of sport to transform lives.
Every partnership SportsBrain forms, every young athlete assessed, and every AI model deployed carries the memory and purpose of Uncle Junior. The platform is a monument built in his name — and a commitment that the next generation of Caribbean athletes will have every advantage he knew they deserved.
In 2023, SportsBrain partnered with the Game of Life Foundation to host the inaugural Caribbean AI Sports Youth Football Combine at the Barbican mini turf in Kingston — the first AI-powered talent identification combine in Caribbean sport. The same year, the Development Bank of Jamaica's IGNITE programme backed SportsBrain with a grant of up to J$7 million, validating it as a national technology asset.
Partners and Backers
Funded through the Government of Jamaica, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the European Union, the DBJ IGNITE grant of up to J$7 million placed SportsBrain as a national Sports AI Lab initiative.
SportsBrain partnered with the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTECH) — home to the Caribbean School of Sports Science — to advance formal academic-commercial AI sports research, including AI, sports nutrition, sports performance, and gamification research.
SportsBrain is a subsidiary of Maestro AI Lab, an applied AI research and commercialisation laboratory, providing the deep technical infrastructure and research pipeline that underpins the SportsBrain platform.
Partner in the inaugural Caribbean AI Sports Youth Football Combine (April 2023) — the first AI-powered talent identification event in Caribbean sport, endorsed by Professional Football Jamaica Limited.
